Trading would still be the best option unless you know the most profitable coins. With the current market, a lot of miners had shut down their rigs.
there are news late last year that miners in china were selling their rig by the kilo. asics that were worth 20k cny before are now being sold at around 1k cny.
i think those asic manufacturers are the only sectors that's still making huge money. their products are overpriced. why don't they help promote cryptocurrencies by selling their products at lower costs. they will earn less than they used to, but it's still a lot of money.

mining on video cards and processors with small power is still possible, if only to find coins at an early start

It is same as for investing. My idea is to get as much coins / token possible until next bull run.

When BTC back to k your today mining will be profitable. If you are planning to exchange your coins into USD today then it is not worth it ATM.

I absolutely agree that this is an investment. I remember the Ethereum mining in early 2016 with a single videocard for 1 coin a day. Prices see for yourself, it costed almost nothing. Was this profitable?

That was my point so it is very relative when we speak what is profitable and what is not. All that need to be consider over time.

The prices of video cards still didn't go down unless we purchase it used from other miners who stopped mining.

Well they make indeed huge money on one. But if they lower the price, they will sell more, and maybe make more money than these days

i think they have maximum capacity of priduction. they have perfected the combinatiin of price vs quantity computation to give them the maximum profit.

i suspect that these asic manufacturers are mining with their new models for few months before they release them. they call it "torture test" or "quality check" to make sure each of them passed the quality mark.

graphic cards used in cryptocurrencies mining is available on most shops nowadays. and they are cheap compared to last year. i guess crypto mining using gpu is not attractive anymore.
